An Interview with Nadia

BIG!

GSU is...

IDEAL is...

FUN!

Q. What do you want to do after you complete the IDEAL program?

A. "I want to get a job involving sports and dance, maybe as a sports manager or a dance teacher. I hope to open my own dance and recording studio."

Q. Are there any artists that would be the dream to work with?

A. "My top person would have been Whitney Houston, but she’s not here, so Cierra??? Would be the second person I would really wanna work with. She is a figure you can look up to because she has good vibes. You can tell that she hasn’t been in any trouble or anything like that."

Q. What is your favorite memory from the program?

A. "My favorite memory from IDEAL is hanging out in the CMII building with my friends and mentors all the
time."

Q. How has IDEAL made a difference in your life?

A. "At first, I thought that college life was not for me, but now that I’ve experienced IDEAL and GSU, I know
that anybody who has a disability still has the ability to go to college. What made me realize this was the
interactions I had with other students at Georgia State who did not have disabilities, and how they
treated me and other IDEAL students just like regular students. They saw me for me and not for my
disability, so that showed me that even though I’m different, I can still have the same experiences and
be treated like any other person."

Q. What advice would you give to someone that wants to be a part of the IDEAL program next year?

A. "The advice I would give to them is that it doesn’t matter that you have a disability, just know, that no
matter what, the staff at IDEAL will always be there to support you and you can always count on them.'
